<동영상을 본 본인의 느낌, 소감>

"불행하게도 한 나라가 다른 나라의 지배를 받게 될 때 가장 첫 번째로 잃는 것은 진실이다."

'한국역사를 지키는 한국청년' 영상에서 나온 토마스 두버니아의 말입니다. 우리나라의 모습을 가장 잘 표현한 말인 것 같아 영상들을 보는 내내 이 말이 머리 속에 계속 맴돌았습니다. 사실 반크에 가입하기 전까지만 해도 전 '역사 왜곡' 문제에 대해 큰 관심을 갖지 않았습니다. 언론에서 전하는 일본과 우리나라 사이에 독도 영유권 분쟁, 일본군 '위안부' 문제들을 들을 때마다 분노 하면서도, 그 이유는 알지 못했습니다. 일본이 '잘못된 역사를 가르치고 있다'며 비판하면서도, 그 문제들은 나와는 상관없는 일이라는 생각이 떠나지 않았습니다. 하지만 반크에 들어오고 난 후 여러가지 활동을 하게 되면서 역사 왜곡은 한 사람이 아닌 한 나라의 정체성을 부인하는 일이라는 것을 알게 됐고, 역사 왜곡을 바로잡기 위해 가장 중요한 것은 바로 고위급 인사들도, 외교관들도 아닌 우리나라 국민들의 자발적인 노력이라는 것을 알게 됐습니다. 반크를 설립하신 박기태 단장님도 동네 PC방에서 그 변화를 시작했듯이, 우리나라 국민들의 작은 움직임들이 큰 변화를 만들 수 있다는 것을 느꼈습니다. 그 움직임들 하나, 하나가 모여 지금 일본이 걷고 있는 잘못된 역사의 길에서 벗어나 자신들의 어두운 역사를 인정하고 사과하는 그 날까지, 반크의 활동이 계속되었으면 좋겠습니다. 그리고 훗날 제가 그토록 바라던 외교관이 되었을 때, 자랑스런 우리나라의 역사를 세계 앞에 당당히 알리고 싶습니다.

Hi! I'm Chloe Choi from South Korea. I hope you are having a great Summer vacation:) I'm not good at writing in English,(even I spent a year studying in America lol) so I hope that you will understand me..:(

Anyway, the reason why I write this letter is I want to tell you about Japan's distorted history. Firstly, they distorts about the truth of the 'comfort women.' The 'comfort women' is Japan's military sexual slavery during the period of Japanese colonial rule. From the 1930s to 1945 during World War 2, many Korean young women were kidnapped by Japanese soldiers as a sex slaves. They raped them, tortured them at its camp. However, Japanese government denied to admit their responsibilities for this war crime, furthermore, they claimed that "none of the 'comfort women' were forcibly recriuted."

Secondly, Japan tries to incorporate our territory, Dokdo, into theirs. They named Dokdo to Takeshima and made false claim over it. Although the distance between Oki Island in Japan and Dokdo is longer than the distance between Ullengdo in South Korea and Dokdo, Japanese government still says Dokdo is their territory. I want to tell you about every historical evidences that Dokdo is Korea's territory, but it will be take a year to explain them with my English. So I'll give you a link about Dokdo, hope you watch these videos.
